ECMWF Ensemble - the public domain WHO subset of ECMWF
Provider: | European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) |
Model scope: | Global |
Update frequency: | every 12 hours |
Resolution: | 0.5°, 30.0nm, 55.6km |
Model duration: | 11 forecasts starting at 0 hr, ending at 10 days |
Parameters: | pressure, wind, temperature, 500 mb, ensemble standard deviation |
GRIB model date: | Sun Oct 13 12:00:00 2024 UTC |
Download date: | Sun Oct 13 20:06:23 2024 UTC |
Download delay: | 8hr 06min |
Note: the Download delay is the amount of time required for the GRIB model to compute its forecast and then for the LuckGrib cluster to download the data and make it available. The LuckGrib delay is generally less than 10 minutes, the remainder of the delay is the model compute time.
Description
Please see the ECMWF Public page for some additional information on the ECMWF models.
In addition to the ECMWF deterministic model, there is an ECMWF ensemble model available.
As with the public domain version of ECMWF deterministic:
These products are available to the public and their use is unrestricted (including commercial use)
The ECMWF public domain ensemble is composed of 52 members. The ensemble mean and standard deviation is provided.
Similar to the ECMWF public domain model, this ensemble model is refreshed twice a day, and has forecast data at 24 hour intervals.
The main interest in this model may be as a comparison to either other ensemble models (GEFS or CMC) or as a comparison to one of the deterministic models.
There is a tutorial which provides more information on this topic.
